Dr. Claire Wilson is a board certified Naturopathic Physician providing primary care to families and individuals of all ages. She has a specific interest in her practice in women’s health, autoimmune conditions, sports medicine, hormone health, and digestive health. Dr. Wilson also maintains a particular focus on relieving pain caused by musculoskeletal conditions, injury, or overall stress on the body or mind. She executes this particularly through the use of various trigger point release therapies, manual bodywork, yoga or movement therapy, and clinical nutrition. A graduate of the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in British Columbia, Dr. Wilson is certified in IV therapy, acupuncture therapy, and prescriptive authority.
Dr. Wilson is dedicated to practicing from a patient-centered philosophy. This entails individualized care, evidence-based therapeutics, and consistent patient education. What initially drew her to Naturopathic medicine was its ability to marry science with a broad scope of treatment options, and apply this to each unique patient through a holistic lens. She believes strongly in an interdisciplinary approach wherein the patient is always informed, aware, and is highly involved in their journey towards a sustainable state of health.
Dr. Wilson is constantly humbled by the potential and wisdom of the human body. Dr Wilson has done extensive training in Yoga and is a competent and dynamic Yoga instructor. Her experiences traveling the world to practice medicine or yoga have given Dr. Wilson a strong understanding that embracing challenge and willingness to learn in a variety of environments are essential factors in our ability to thrive. As such, within the clinic walls she encourages patients to embrace the challenge of taking health into their own hands. With this in mind, she is devoted to working with the patient by answering questions, explaining concepts, and sharing what knowledge she has gained through her education and life experience.
She looks forward to caring for patients at Dr Denoon’s clinic in Fernie.
